Who’s Behind the Magazine
Escarpment Views is the idea of Gloria Hildebrandt, a well-known local writer, editor and journalist who is based at Orchard House in the country above the Escarpment north of Georgetown. She has been editor of Caledon Living and an investigative reporter for The North Halton Compass.
Gloria’s roots in Escarpment country go back to 1964. She has been a freelancer for the Independent and The Herald, two Georgetown newspapers, and for The Tackaberry Times. She has also written for such national magazines as Canadian Living, Maclean’s, Flare and Homes & Cottages. She has taught writing courses at Seneca College, Sheridan College and Ryerson University.
As Editor of Escarpment Views, Gloria will ensure the excellence, quality and focus that readers have come to expect from her, and that advertisers have appreciated as delivering customers to their messages.
Mike Davis does much of the photography for Escarpment Views. His work has also been published in Caledon Living. His fresh eye and enthusiasm for local photography has received many accolades from readers and subscribers. As Accounts Manager, he is an important part of Escarpment Views. Georgetown has been his home his whole life. His work as the owner of a small business since 1994, and his knowledge and political service to the community all help him bring sensitivity and a strong business focus to the goals of advertisers.
Branimir Zlamalik is our talented Art Director. His beautiful design work and attention to detail for Escarpment Views is a big part of the magazine’s appeal. A Registered Graphic Designer with more than 35 years of experience, he has international knowledge and appreciation for art and design. He is also an active member of the Halton-Peel Communications Association.
